International Chopin Festival

International Chopin Festival

At the Festival Internacional Chopin, the music returns to where it was born: the Reial Cartoixa of Valldemossa, where Frédéric Chopin spent the winter of 1838/39 with George Sand and composed part of his Préludes. Running since 1930, it is one of the island's oldest piano traditions, bringing international pianists into the historic walls of the Carthusian monastery. You hear Chopin's works in the very place that shaped them, set in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. This evening continues the summer's recital series.
