ZULOAGA / ANGLADA-CAMARASA

Ongoing exhibition

ZULOAGA / ANGLADA-CAMARASA

Runs until 10 January 2027

The friendship between Ignacio Zuloaga and Hermen Anglada-Camarasa is reflected in the letters they exchanged over the years. These writings help us better understand their work and their view of art. The two met at the 1900 Paris Universal Exposition, where they were already standing out as artists. From then on, they maintained a relationship based on meetings and constant correspondence. In their letters, they shared opinions, advice, and reflections on the creative process and personal life. The exhibition brings together twenty-four works, twelve by each painter. The show makes it possible to compare their artistic similarities and differences. Both depicted popular themes of the Paris of the time, such as majas, gitanas, and landscapes. They were also influenced by Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. However, their styles show clearly distinct and personal approaches. * Caixabank customers and those under 16 can enter free of charge.
