Description

6A Galería de Arte y Taller is an art gallery with its own print workshop in the historic heart of Palma, specialising in traditional printmaking techniques — stone lithography in particular — alongside contemporary art.

Gallery and Workshop Under One Roof

6A brings together a gallery and a working studio dedicated to traditional printmaking. The focus is on stone lithography, though engravings and other graphic works are produced here too. Founded in 1982 as a workshop, the venture has grown into a gallery where original printmaking stands as an art form in its own right, alongside painting, drawing, and sculpture. More than 450 m² are devoted to contemporary art and printmaking; the space is complemented by an apartment for artists who don't have a permanent base on Mallorca, with whom the gallery collaborates closely.

Exhibitions and Artists

The gallery presents rotating exhibitions — including works by Ramon Canet — as well as an extensive collection of graphic works by acclaimed artists. Among those represented are Pep Coll, Maria Carbonero, and Mateu Bauzà. A central commitment of the gallery is the preservation and rediscovery of traditional printmaking techniques through its exhibition programme.

In the Historic Centre of Palma

The gallery is located at Carrer de la Puresa 8 in the Centre neighbourhood, right in the old town of Palma. The space spans two floors.

What makes 6A stand out from other art galleries?

When was 6A founded?
The venture was founded in 1982 as a workshop and has since developed into a fully fledged gallery.
Are there opportunities for artists to work on site?
Yes — the gallery provides an apartment for artists who don't have a permanent base on Mallorca, with whom it actively collaborates.
