Description

The Aljub del pati de ses dones is a historic cistern in Palma that has been restored over three years and is now open to the public once more.

The Cistern of La Misericòrdia

The Aljub sits beneath the women's courtyard of the La Misericòrdia building complex. Following years of restoration work — carried out by architects Pedro Bonet, Matías Togores, Catalina Riera and Esteve Torres — the space is now accessible to visitors. The result is a striking underground chamber with lighting and music carefully chosen to complement the unique atmosphere of the place. Entry is free of charge.

In the Heart of the Old Town

The cistern is located at Carrer del Bisbe Campins 1 in the Centre district of Palma. The entrance is accessible via a wheelchair ramp.
