The Auditori Municipal de Porreres is a beautifully restored cinema-theatre that now serves as the municipal arts and events centre for the town of Porreres.

An old cinema reborn

The building opened in 1945 as a cinema — the largest of what were then three picture houses in Porreres. It closed in the late 1970s and passed through various uses before falling into visible disrepair. In 2002 the town of Porreres took ownership and carried out a full restoration. The result is an auditorium that retains the charm of a classic theatre from a bygone era whilst being run with fully modern facilities.

The Auditori hosts a broad cultural programme: concerts, theatre productions, musicals, dance performances and exhibitions all take place here, alongside film screenings, choir rehearsals and music tuition. The hall's acoustics are widely regarded as excellent — a quality that serves it particularly well for orchestral concerts.
