Aussichtspunkt Sant Elm
Description
Sant Elm is a small coastal village on the western tip of Mallorca, within the municipality of Andratx, drawing visitors with its tranquil bay, crystal-clear water, and sweeping views across to the offshore Isla Dragonera.
Bay, Beach and Views
The heart of Sant Elm is its bay, with turquoise water and two small sandy beaches. From the seafront promenade, the Isla Dragonera sits right in front of you — and you can hop across by boat. Those who fancy a bit of a climb are rewarded on the coastal path with a panoramic view over the entire bay, and with a bit of luck you might even spot dolphins. Sunsets over the sea here are particularly spectacular.
Walking Around Sant Elm
The coastal path is easily reached from the car park on Cami Sa Torre; the ascent takes around 20 minutes. Sant Elm is also a well-known starting point for the GR221, the long-distance trail through the Tramuntana mountains.
The Village
Sant Elm today is made up of holiday homes and apartments, with a small cluster of restaurants, bars, and shops. Outside the peak season the atmosphere is wonderfully laid-back. At weekends and in summer the village is considerably busier.
Getting There & Location
Sant Elm sits at the far north-western edge of the Andratx municipality. The address is Carrer Cala es Conills 35, 07159 Andratx. The approach road winds through a series of hairpin bends, so it's worth bearing that in mind before setting off by car.
