Description
The Bunker Sa Coma Beach is a historic coastal structure right on the shore of Sa Coma in eastern Mallorca — a worthwhile stop for anyone who fancies combining a beach stroll with a glimpse of living history.
Two Bunkers, One Beautiful Coastline
Two old bunkers sit along the beach at Sa Coma, easy to take in as you walk past. Both structures are weathered and covered in graffiti, and litter around and near the buildings is a recurring issue. As standalone sights, the bunkers aren't especially remarkable — their real appeal lies in the wider setting: the views over the beach and coastline from here are lovely, and the sunset over the water is well worth catching.
Coast & Nature
The coastline surrounding the bunkers is the true highlight of this spot. The water is a vivid, clear blue, warm and shallow — it stays gentle for a long stretch, making it a great area for families with young children. Behind the beach, a nature reserve begins, though it tends to be poorly respected by visitors.
Hiking & Adventure
A coastal path continues behind the bunkers, hugging the shoreline. The route is at times very rocky and demanding — sturdy footwear is strongly recommended. The trail is said to lead all the way to a watchtower. If you're after a bit of adventure, this makes for a rewarding, if challenging, walk.
Finding the Bunkers
The bunkers are located at Avinguda de ses Palmeres 9 in Sa Coma, a coastal village on the eastern side of Mallorca. They're clearly visible from the beach.
