Description
Cafè Es Barranc is a restaurant and café in the small mountain village of Biniaraix, tucked right alongside the Barranc de Biniaraix gorge.
Food and Drink
The kitchen keeps things fresh and seasonal, with a focus on Mediterranean and Mallorcan cooking. Homemade pasta — including ravioli, tagliatelle and pappardelle — sits alongside fresh seasonal fish, and the dessert selection is well worth saving room for: tiramisu, cheesecake, almond cake, lemon tart and apple cake all feature. Vegetarian options are available too.
Terraces and Atmosphere
There are two terraces to choose from — one overlooking the village lane, the other tucked away in a peaceful courtyard — both offering views of the Barranc de Biniaraix gorge and Es Cornadors. A magnificent tree provides welcome shade. The whole place has a calm, unhurried feel, and a small play area means families with children are very much at home here.
Location and Getting There
Cafè Es Barranc is on Carrer de Sant Guillem, nº 1, in Biniaraix. The village sits in the Serra de Tramuntana and is a popular stop on walking routes from Sóller. Navigation can be a little tricky, as some signs mark certain approach roads as no-entry — but these can in practice be used to reach the café. Free on-street parking is available nearby.
Service
The team is friendly, attentive and professional. Reservations can be made via the website.
