Café forn Sa Bassa Nova is a café and bakery in Portocolom, sitting right on the edge of the harbour bay.

Fresh from the kitchen

Everything at Sa Bassa Nova is made in-house: cakes, rolls and a wonderful array of baked goods are all produced on the premises. The ensaimadas, croissants, cinnamon rolls, baguettes and the various breakfast toasts and sandwiches are particularly well regarded. Mallorcan specialities also feature strongly, with bocadillos filled with sobrasada and camaiot with cheese among the highlights. The coffee is considered some of the best in Portocolom.

Terrace and interior

The interior has an open, airy feel that lets you catch a glimpse straight into the kitchen. Outside, the terrace is relaxed and unhurried — a charming touch is the parrots who live out there, keeping guests, especially children, thoroughly entertained. Ordering is done at the counter on a self-service basis.
