Description

Cala Blanca is an unspoilt, rocky cove in Andratx in the south-west of Mallorca — no facilities to speak of, but strikingly clear water and a genuine sense of seclusion.

A natural cove, no frills attached

Cala Blanca isn't a sandy beach — it's a small cove of pebbles and rock. There are no toilets, no showers, no kiosk and no sun loungers. If you come knowing that and embrace it, you'll find an untouched spot with exceptionally clear water that's brilliant for snorkelling. Shaded areas do exist, though they sit a little higher up the hillside.

Location & getting there

The cove sits within the municipality of Andratx, between Sa Punta dels Bancals and Cala en Cranc, beneath the mountain of Sa Talaia. The car park is straightforward to reach by car, though part of the access road is single-track. From the car park, a rocky, steep path leads down to the cove — sturdy footwear is essential, and flip-flops or sandals simply won't do. A sure footing is a must.

Atmosphere & who it suits

Outside the peak summer season, Cala Blanca is often almost entirely deserted. The cove is dog-friendly and is a favourite with dog owners. If you have limited mobility or need accessible facilities, it's worth bearing in mind that the steep, rocky descent can be a real challenge.
