Description

Cala de na Llòbriga is a small, remote rocky cove in the municipality of Capdepera in the north-east of Mallorca.

Stones, rocks, and clear water

Don't come looking for sand — the cove is made up of stones, pebbles, and rocks, and that continues underwater. Getting in and out of the water requires a bit of care, as the stones underfoot can be slippery and occasionally sharp. Water shoes are a wise thing to pack. For those who don't mind, the reward is crystal-clear water that's well suited to snorkelling. There's also a small rocky outcrop in the cove behind which you can tuck yourself away from the rest of the beach.

Getting there

The cove is only accessible on foot. A woodland path — winding in part through pine forest — leads from Cala Agulla to Cala de na Llòbriga, around a 45-minute walk. From Cala Molto, the route is marked with lilac-coloured waymarkers. The paths are stony and uneven, so sturdy footwear is strongly recommended.

Seclusion is the main attraction

Make the effort to get here and you'll be rewarded with real peace and quiet. The cove is far less visited than the nearby Cala Agulla, and even in high season visitors tend not to linger, so there are usually calm moments to be had. The occasional jellyfish has been spotted here — worth bearing in mind if you're particularly sensitive to them.
