Cala en Tugores is a remote, unspoilt cove on Mallorca's southern coast — a natural landscape well away from tourist infrastructure.

An unspoilt cove with crystal-clear water

Cala en Tugores sits at the end of a U-shaped bay and impresses with crystal-clear, shallow water over a mix of sand, stones and rock. The water shifts between varying depths, which gives the cove a genuinely striking appearance. That said, if you're coming for a swim, be prepared: Posidonia seagrass dominates much of the bay and makes swimming rather difficult — in places it piles up to several metres high.

Getting there

The cove lies roughly between Colònia de Sant Jordi and Cap de Ses Salines. Access is via a coastal path — the walk from Colònia de Sant Jordi takes around an hour on foot. The bay sees very little footfall and has absolutely no on-site infrastructure such as kiosks or refreshment facilities.

Who is it worth the trip for?

Cala en Tugores is best suited to nature lovers who are after peace and seclusion and see the coastal walk as part of the experience itself. If swimming or sunbathing is your priority, this probably isn't the spot for you — the seagrass leaves little room for either. If, on the other hand, you fancy watching wildlife or exploring a truly untouched stretch of coastline, you'll find a wonderfully quiet corner well off the beaten track.
