Cala Gran Bucht
Description
Cala Gran is a natural swimming bay in Cala d'Or on the south-east coast of Mallorca — and the largest of all the coves that belong to this charming resort.
Water, sand and rocks
Crystal-clear turquoise water and pale golden sand make Cala Gran well worth a visit. You can stroll along the rocky edges of the bay and settle in the shade of pine trees, or jump straight into the sea from the rocks. The calm, sheltered cove is a great spot for snorkelling — dip below the surface and you'll find plenty of fish to discover.
What's on the beach
Showers and toilets are available on the beach. Sun loungers and pedal boats can be hired, and there are restaurants and snack bars right on the spot for when hunger strikes.
How to find it
The bay is located at Carrer de s'Estel 8 in Cala d'Or. There is a bus stop nearby.
When to visit
During peak season Cala Gran gets busy, but come in April or November and you'll find it noticeably quieter — and the water can still be pleasantly warm.
