Cala Mesquida
Description
Cala Mesquida is a sweeping sandy bay in the north-east of Mallorca, within the municipality of Capdepera, nestled inside a protected natural reserve.
Beach & Water
Fine, pale sand, turquoise water of exceptional clarity, and generous stretches of beach are the hallmarks of Cala Mesquida. The seabed shelves gently, making swimming comfortable even with young children — though when the wind picks up, the waves can become quite powerful and the water less suitable for little ones. Behind the beach, dunes frame the bay in a wonderfully natural way. At the western end there is a designated naturist area.
Nature Reserve & Atmosphere
Cala Mesquida sits within a protected nature reserve and feels refreshingly undeveloped compared with busier stretches of the Mallorcan coastline. That wild quality is central to its character — dunes, rocky outcrops and rolling hills are as much a part of the scene as the clear water itself.
Facilities on Site
A lifeguard service is stationed at the beach and keeps watch over the bay. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hire, and there is a beach bar (chiringuito) on site. Bins are provided at several points along the beach.
Location & Getting There
Cala Mesquida lies within the municipality of Capdepera in the north-east of Mallorca (07589). Both free and paid parking are available right by the beach, though finding a space can be tricky during peak season. Free on-street parking is also possible nearby.
