Description
Cala Pi is a natural cove on the southern coast of Mallorca — a fjord-like sea inlet framed by steep cliffs and filled with striking turquoise water.
The Cove
The inlet is narrow and flanked by rock faces, giving the cove a sheltered, windless character. When conditions are good, the water is exceptionally clear and turquoise; the tightness of the inlet keeps swell at bay. On the plateau above, viewpoints look out across the entire cove — a favourite spot for photographs. The cliff walls also make for rewarding snorkelling.
Access & Getting There
The beach is only accessible via a long, partly steep stone staircase. The descent is not suitable for pushchairs or for anyone with limited mobility. There is parking in the village above, though spaces fill up quickly in high season. Restaurants and bars can be found above the beach.
Good to Know
In high season the small cove gets very busy, which can affect water quality. If you prefer a quieter experience, the shoulder season has a clear advantage — and arriving by boat lets you make the most of the seclusion. There are no toilets on the beach itself; facilities are located on the path leading to the staircase. Keep an eye on your valuables while swimming, as petty theft has been reported in the area.
