Description

Caló des Llamp is a small nature reserve and rocky cove on the south-east coast of Mallorca, within the municipality of Santanyí.

Water, Rock and Underwater Life

The cove impresses with clear, calm water and is well suited to snorkelling and diving. Beneath the surface you'll find octopuses, nudibranchs and small fish — an underwater world that is remarkably aquarium-like in its density, quite unlike anything else in the area. Stone steps cut directly into the rocks make getting into the water straightforward.

Views and Atmosphere

The coastline and cliffs frame a striking panorama, and sunsets here are particularly dramatic — photographers will find no shortage of subjects. The surroundings are peaceful and well away from the main tourist crowds, with stone, sea and wind defining the character of the place. Do bear in mind that the cove is flanked by private villas, which limits access to the water somewhat.
