Description
Can Moranta is a traditional village bakery in Consell, crafting bread and Mallorcan pastries using time-honoured recipes passed down through generations.
Craft Baking with Time-Honoured Recipes
Can Moranta bakes using traditional recipes and ingredients — everything is made in-house rather than sourced from industrial suppliers. The staple range includes white and dark Mallorcan salt-free bread, alongside speciality loaves such as rye bread, seeded white and seeded dark bread, and wholemeal. The dark country loaf is one of the bakery's signature offerings. On the pastry side, you'll find ensaimadas — plain, filled with angel hair, or cream-filled — as well as empanadas, cocas (including an apricot coca), muffins, crespells, and llonguets. If you'd like a large ensaimada, you can order one in advance by phone.
History and Generations
The bakery's roots stretch back to 1919, when Joan Company was the first owner the family recalls. After a brief period of closure, the fourth generation of the Planells family — Laura and Maria — took over and continue to run it today.
Location in Consell
The bakery is situated at Carrer de Ferrer 12 in the heart of Consell. Parking in the immediate vicinity is limited.
Prices and Shopping
Can Moranta is set up purely for takeaway — there are no tables or chairs on the premises. Prices are considered fair and reasonable, and payment is accepted by credit card, debit card, and contactless.
