Description
Can Prunera is an art museum in Sóller, housed in a beautifully restored Art Nouveau villa.
The House as a Work of Art
The villa itself is one of the main exhibits: original furniture, ornate doors and windows, the staircase, floor tiles with floral motifs, and elaborate stucco and decorative details on the ceilings and walls have all been preserved in remarkably authentic condition. The interiors only reveal their full impact once you step inside — from the street, the building cuts a rather understated figure.
Collection and Exhibitions
The art collection features works by Spanish and international artists, including pieces by Miró, Picasso, Cézanne, and other key figures of classical modernism. Both permanent and temporary exhibitions are on display, and an audio guide is available to accompany your visit. Guided tours are also offered.
Top Floor and Garden
The uppermost floor is designed as an interactive space — hands-on, exploratory, and very much intended for adults as much as children. The sculpture garden at the rear of the house makes for a peaceful retreat, and you can enjoy a drink there without purchasing a museum ticket.
Location and Getting There
Can Prunera is located at Carrer de sa Lluna 86–90 in the centre of Sóller. Accessible parking spaces are available nearby, and the building itself features a step-free entrance, accessible seating, and a lift.
