Description
Can Vidal FoodHall is a restaurant in the old town of Alcúdia, serving Mediterranean cuisine and handmade pizzas inside a meticulously restored historic building.
History & the Building
The building that houses Can Vidal today holds the status of a protected cultural heritage site. It was home to Alcúdia's first electricity factory in 1913; by 1924 the factory had relocated, and the premises were taken over by the Tapices Vidal weaving mill, which operated here until the second half of the 20th century. After decades of standing empty, the building was carefully restored and reimagined as a gastronomic concept — the result is an open, generous space with a modern interior that still carries a palpable sense of its industrial past.
Cuisine & Menu
The heart of the menu is its handmade pizzas, celebrated as a highlight of any visit — with inventive options such as pulled pork pizza and tataki pizza. Beyond that, you'll find pasta dishes (with seafood, mushrooms, and king prawns, among others), burgers, burrata, sweet potato, and green curry prawns. Starters are generously portioned. The concept calls itself a FoodHall, weaving together gastronomy and wine culture.
Rooftop Bar & Views
A dedicated rooftop area with a bar overlooking the old town and Alcúdia's historic city walls is very much part of the experience. The upper terrace is a favourite spot for evening drinks.
Where to Find It
Can Vidal is located on Plaça de Carles V in Alcúdia, on the edge of the old town. The restaurant offers seating indoors, in the courtyard, and on the adjoining square — including shaded outdoor tables. Takeaway is also available.
Who It's Perfect For
The venue is family-friendly — high chairs are on hand and children's menus are available. The atmosphere is modern and lively; on market days, when the weekly market fills the square outside, Can Vidal makes for a welcome, more relaxed retreat from the surrounding bustle.
