A Winding Road to Remember
The road to the lighthouse is narrow and extremely winding — if you're prone to dizziness or motion sickness, it's worth bearing that in mind before setting off. Along the route there are several viewpoints where you can pull over and soak in the mountain and coastal scenery. Cyclists also make frequent use of the road, which can slow progress in places.

Cap Formentor lies in the north of Mallorca and falls within the municipality of Pollença (postcode 07460). During the summer months, access by private car is restricted during certain periods; if you don't arrive early enough, you'll need to hop on the scheduled bus that runs from the car park at Playa de Formentor up to the tip. Outside the peak-season restrictions, the route is open to private vehicles.
At the Lighthouse
At the very end of the headland stands the historic lighthouse, accompanied by a café and restaurant as well as public toilets. The view from the lighthouse area is widely considered the highlight of any visit — both at sunrise and sunset, the quality of light over the cliffs and sea is truly breathtaking.
