The project earns its Catalan name — Carreró de l'Art, meaning roughly "art alleyway" — in every sense: a staircase and narrow lanes are covered from top to bottom with colourful paintings and murals. The works come from both local and international artists, transforming these unassuming passageways into a walkable open-air exhibition. The whole project is organised by the collective and art gallery Margarita.

The Carreró de l'Art is located on Carrer d'En Sureda, close to the harbour in Porto Cristo. The painted staircase sits just a short walk from the waterfront and is easy to reach on foot.
