Description
Coll de Femenia is a mountain pass in the Serra de Tramuntana on Mallorca, situated along the route near Lluc.
The Pass
Coll de Femenia sits at 515 metres above sea level and is one of Mallorca's lesser-known passes. The road crossing it forms part of the ascent to the monastery of Lluc. The gradient is steady throughout, rarely exceeding around 10 per cent, and the road surface is in good condition. Do keep an eye out for animals on the road — goats and sheep are a perfectly common sight along the way.
Activities at the Pass
Cycling is by far the most popular pursuit here, whether on a road bike or roller skis. Beyond that, the area lends itself beautifully to hiking, picnics, and exploring the surrounding landscape. Trail running is also well established on this stretch.
Getting There
The pass lies on the MA-10, the section running between Lluc and Pollença — one of the most scenic and well-travelled routes on the island. Parking at the pass itself is very limited, so if you're arriving by car it's worth planning ahead.
