If you'd rather walk, the surrounding countryside has natural trails with spectacular views, as well as several restored historic lime kilns set amongst holm oak woodland. Historically, the cave was used to shelter livestock.

The ascent to the cave runs up a slope with a noticeable gradient, and the descent is actually more demanding than the climb up.
