The rear of the cave is genuinely dark, so a torch is well worth bringing. Even before you reach the entrance, you can hear the rush and splash of seawater echoing off the rock walls.

Access & the descent

A broad stone staircase leads down to the cave entrance, making both the descent and the return climb manageable. Several footpaths wind through the surrounding — at times heavily overgrown — terrain, but not all of them lead to the right spot. The roof of the cave is secured with a metal grille.
