Cova Negra is a viewpoint and day-trip destination near Capdepera in the north-east of Mallorca, reached via a short ascent with some scrambling sections that leads to a small cave and sweeping panoramic views.

The highlight of the ascent is a small cave — modest in size but full of character. Push on a little further with some scrambling and you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view over Capdepera and the surrounding countryside. Right alongside stands the Capdepera VOR-DME radio beacon CDP, a striking piece of technical infrastructure that defines the summit area.

The path up to Cova Negra is narrow, and there is no parking at the site itself. If you're arriving by car, factor in some time to find a spot further down. The ascent itself is a short walk — quiet and well worth the effort.
