Cuchillería Ordinas is a traditional knife-maker and cutlery shop in Llucmajor, offering handcrafted knives and tools made on the premises — a family craft spanning more than a century.

A Craft Rooted in Family Tradition

The Ordinas family began crafting knives by hand in Sineu over a hundred years ago, before relocating the workshop to its current home in Llucmajor in 1967. Today, Lluc Ordinas runs the business as the fourth generation, holding the title of Maestro Artesano — awarded by the Government of the Illes Balears — alongside official recognition as a certified artisan enterprise. At the back of the shop, the workshop remains in full operation, using the very same methods and tools that have been employed for over a century. The entrance area, framed by a distinctive sandstone arch, doubles as the retail space.

The Range: Knives, Navajas & More

At the heart of the offering are traditional Mallorcan knives and folding pocket knives (navajas), handmade by Lluc Ordinas himself — with handles crafted from horn, olive wood, and compressed wood. Classic butcher's knives and a trinchet (a traditional artisan's knife) are also part of the repertoire. Beyond blades, the shop stocks kitchen utensils, axes, and a range of garden and household accessories. Existing knives can be sharpened on the spot, and garden tools and kitchen items can be left in for repair.

The workshop and shop are located at Carrer d'es Vall 128 in Llucmajor, on the ground floor of a characterful building easily identified by its striking sandstone arch at the entrance.
