Description
Forn Ca l'amo en Pep is a traditional wood-fired bakery in the Nord district of Palma, crafting authentic Mallorcan baked goods by hand.
From the Wood-Fired Oven
The beating heart of this bakery is its old wood-fired oven, which gives every loaf and pastry its distinctly traditional character. Pa pagès — the classic Mallorcan country bread — and dark rye-style bread are among the most celebrated products on offer. The ensaimada, including a version filled with toasted cream, has earned an outstanding reputation; if you'd like a large one, it's well worth ordering in advance. Llonguets, the beloved Mallorcan bread rolls, are another signature of the house.
Mallorcan Specialities
Beyond the bread, the forn carries a wide range of traditional Mallorcan baked goods: coca with trampó, coca with vegetables, apricot coca, as well as empanadas, cocarrois and robiols. You'll also find wine, fresh fruit and vegetables, and newspapers.
A Craft with History
For many years, master baker Arnau shaped the soul of this bakery, giving it its unmistakable artisan character — his name is synonymous with the place itself. The forn is considered one of the last truly authentic wood-fired bakeries on Mallorca still working in this time-honoured tradition.
Location & Surroundings
The bakery sits on Carrer de Joan Mascaró i Fornés in Palma's Nord district. Right next door is Bar Sa Creu, where you can enjoy the forn's llonguets fresh on the spot.
