Description
Forn Ca sa Camena is a traditional bakery and pastry shop in Palma's Santa Catalina neighbourhood — open since 1912 and still going strong as a home of Mallorcan baking craft.
Mallorcan Baking Craft
The range stays true to Balearic baking tradition: ensaïmadas — widely regarded as particularly good here — alongside llonguets, cocas in various forms (including coca de patata, coca de trampó and coca with paprika), cocarrois, panades and cremadillos. The dark pagès bread stands out for its flavour and keeping quality. For large ensaïmadas, it's worth ordering at least a day in advance.
A Horno de Toda la Vida
The Amengual Vich family opened Ca sa Camena in 1912, and the bakery has remained in family hands ever since — considered one of the last genuinely authentic establishments of its kind in the neighbourhood. It operates as a craft bakery, though it's worth noting that some items, particularly certain pastries, may not be made entirely on the premises.
In the Santa Catalina Quarter
The bakery is located at Carrer d'Anníbal 22 in Palma's Ponent/Santa Catalina district. At weekends it pays to arrive early — popular items tend to sell out quickly.
