Description
Forn de can Monserrat is a traditional Mallorcan bakery in Porto Cristo.
Craft & Range
The heart of the offering is ensaimadas in various forms — plain as well as filled, both sweet and savoury. Alongside these you'll find empanadas, including versions with sobrasada, plus classic Mallorcan bakes such as coca de trampó, potato coca, panades and senyorets. Bread is also a firm fixture on the shelves.
Quality & Character
Freshness and artisan quality run through everything on offer. The ensaimadas are the undisputed pride of the house amongst regulars, and the bread is consistently praised for being fresh and well made. For larger ensaimadas — such as those with a cream filling — it's worth placing an order in advance. To make the most of the day's full selection, arriving early is the way to go.
History & Roots
Forn de can Monserrat is one of the few traditional Mallorcan bakeries still in active operation. The family moved to Porto Cristo and opened the business in 1967, making it the first bakery in the village centre.
Where to Find It
The bakery is located at Avinguda dels Pins 37 in Porto Cristo.
