Craft from the wood-fired oven
At Forn de Sa Creu, everything revolves around bread — made by hand and baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. The star of the show is Pa moreno, the dark Mallorcan farmhouse loaf, prized for how well it keeps: it's just as good the next day and stays enjoyable for several days. Alongside it you'll find white bread and — on certain days — Coca, including Coca de patata. If you're lucky, you might also come across an Empanada de pescado. The range is deliberately concise; the focus is firmly on quality over quantity.
Come early or pre-order
The bread sells out quickly — arrive late and you'll leave empty-handed. To be sure of getting what you want, it's well worth ordering ahead. The fact that people make a special trip from Palma all the way to Algaida just to shop here says it all.
