Description
The Fundació Barceló is a non-profit foundation in Palma that brings together social projects and a vibrant cultural programme.
A Listed Building Steeped in History
The foundation is housed in the former residence of the Marqués del Reguer-Rullán — a title granted by King Philip V (1683–1746). The neo-Gothic building was completed in 1883 and is listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural, placing it under the highest level of heritage protection in Spain. The Barceló Oliver family acquired the property and established it as the foundation's home.
Exhibitions & Art
The Fundació Barceló hosts a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions, providing a platform for artists from new generations alongside more established names. The building positions itself as a genuine cultural hub within the city.
Social Commitment
Alongside its cultural activities, the foundation is dedicated to social work — both locally and internationally. Projects on its website cover areas including health (the Farmasol project), water and sanitation, and education.
