Description

Happy Cat is a non-profit cat rescue organisation in Sa Coma des Puig Verd that takes in stray and abandoned cats, finds them loving homes, and relies on a network of foster carers to do it.

Rescue, care, rehome

Happy Cat is built around a foster-home model ("hogar de tránsito"): cats that have been living rough on the streets or have fallen on hard times are taken in, given the medical attention they need, and prepared for adoption. The organisation cares for animals of all ages — from newborns and kittens right through to senior cats. Veterinary partners include the Huellas animal clinic, which carries out initial health checks and vaccinations. Prospective adopters are welcome to visit their future companion after a few weeks, before bringing them home for good.

How it all began

The idea for Happy Cat came about after its founding team spent years working within another animal welfare organisation and noticed that cats were frequently overlooked. On 19 September 2017, Happy Cat began its work under the banner "Un Hogar para Los Mininos de Mallorca". The organisation depends entirely on volunteers and public support to keep going.

Support that doesn't stop at adoption

Happy Cat believes that adopters should never feel on their own after taking a cat home. Questions and concerns are actively welcomed, and the team is on hand to offer guidance and reassurance as families settle in with their new companion. Every adopter also receives a starter pack of food when they collect their cat. On top of that, the organisation carries out follow-up monitoring of all adoptions.

Where to find Happy Cat

The organisation is based on Carrer de s'Ullastre in Sa Coma des Puig Verd (07110). For more information and to get in touch, visit happycatadoptaungato.com.
