Description
La Roca es Colomer is a natural landmark and viewpoint on the Formentor Peninsula in northern Mallorca.
Rock, Cliffs, Sea
La Roca es Colomer is a small rocky islet rising from the Mediterranean and one of the most photographed sights on the island. From the Mirador Es Colomer — a viewing platform set around 200 metres above sea level — a sweeping panorama opens up across sheer cliffs and deep-blue water. It is the dramatic combination of rock, sea and sky that makes this place so unforgettable. Sunrise and sunset are particularly breathtaking moments to visit.
Getting There
The viewpoint sits on the Formentor Peninsula, on the road heading towards Cap de Formentor. From the car park, a path with steps — first uphill, then downhill — leads to the secured viewing platform, complete with walls and a railing. The winding mountain road on the approach is a visual treat in itself. The access road is periodically closed to private vehicles in summer, with a bus service available as an alternative. Parking is limited.
