Panadería Nadal – also known as Forn de Ca'n Nadal – is a traditional artisan bakery in Cala Lliteres, near Cala Ratjada.

Wood-fired craftsmanship

At Forn de Ca'n Nadal, everything is baked in a wood-fired oven – a method that gives the bread and pastries their unmistakable character. The range includes Mallorcan farmhouse bread in white and dark sourdough varieties, the xusco (a free-formed roll baked without a tray), baguettes, bread rolls, and savoury specialities such as panadas and cocarrois. Around Sant Antoni, the traditional ensaimadas de tajadas make a welcome seasonal appearance.

The ensaimada as the house speciality

The bakery's ensaimadas are its calling card. They come in several varieties, including the classic plain version as well as fillings of almond and angel hair (cabell d'àngel). Larger orders – such as a celebratory cake-sized ensaimada – are available and must be placed at least two days in advance, with payment taken in cash at the time of ordering. If you're popping in without a pre-order, it's worth arriving early, as the freshly baked goods tend to sell out by mid-morning.

Location & getting there

The bakery is at Carrer de l'Agulla 20 in Cala Lliteres, opposite the recently redesigned car park near the church in the lower part of the Cala Agulla road. Its modest frontage makes it easy to walk straight past – but once you've found it, you'll always know where to come back to.

Atmosphere

The shop is small and delightfully no-frills; at busy times you may find yourself queuing outside. The feel is that of a genuine village bakery: not polished or picture-perfect, but authentically Mallorcan.
