Since 1967, Panaderia Pons has been baking in a wood-fired oven — and that heritage shapes everything on offer, from breads and rolls to sweet and savoury pastries and Mallorcan specialities. Particularly worth a mention are the ensaimadas, empanadas, panades, rubiols and coca de patata. Freshly filled bocadillos, cakes and individual tarts round things out nicely, and coffee — including cappuccino — completes the picture. The bakes are light, airy and genuinely homemade, and the prices are remarkably good value.

Mallorcan classics at the heart of it all

The ensaimadas are the house's calling card, available in several varieties including filled versions with sobrasada or cabello de ángel. The napolitanas (chocolate croissants) are equally popular. If you'd like to take a taste of Mallorca home, ensaimadas can be ordered for delivery to mainland Spain and within the Balearic Islands — shipping starts from €3.50, and orders over €100 qualify for free delivery.
