Description

Panorama is a viewpoint above Peguera in south-west Mallorca, reached on foot via unsurfaced trails.

The View

Those who make the climb are rewarded with sweeping views over the town and the bay. The panorama is at its most dramatic in the evening, when the sun sits low on the horizon.

The Route Up

The approach as far as the woodland edge at Peguera is relatively straightforward. Beyond that, the route follows mountain-bike trails that are partly steep and unsurfaced — particular care is needed on the way back down, as the paths are shared with mountain bikers. Signposting is largely absent; anyone wanting to navigate should rely on GPS or photos left by previous visitors. Only a single sign pointing to the mirador appears along the way. For families with young children the terrain is therefore not well suited; more adventurous, active walkers, on the other hand, will find it well worth the effort.

Where to Find It

The Panorama viewpoint lies within the municipality of Peguera (07160), Balearic Islands. It can be reached on foot from the town centre; there is a car park from which you walk along the road before the actual ascent begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the route to Panorama signposted?
No, there is very little in the way of signage. Only a single sign pointing to the mirador has been spotted along the route. GPS or photos from previous visitors are the most reliable way to navigate.
Do you have to share the path with other user groups?
Yes, beyond the woodland edge the trails are shared with mountain bikers. As some sections are steep, extra caution is advised.
Is the climb suitable for children?
The terrain is not recommended for families with younger children: the paths are unmarked, unsurfaced, and heavily used by downhill mountain bikers.
