Parc Natural Es Trenc-Salobrar

The Parc Natural Es Trenc-Salobrar is a nature reserve in the south-east of Mallorca, protecting salt flats, dunes and stretches of coastline.

Salt Flats and Flamingos

The heart of the reserve is the vast network of salt pans at the Salobrar de Campos. Walking the paths between the old brine pools gives you a real chance of spotting flamingos — including juveniles. It's a particularly rewarding spot for birdwatching and nature photography.

Access & Beach

Not all of the nature park is freely accessible; the salt works can largely be viewed from the road. The Es Trenc beach area is open to visitors, though depending on conditions it can be covered in seaweed — a natural process in a protected environment, if occasionally pungent. On calm days, the water is beautifully clear.

Getting There

The nature park is located near Es Trenc, postcode 07639, in the south-east of Mallorca. The final kilometres to the coast run along narrow country lanes where passing oncoming traffic can be tricky — worth bearing in mind when you plan your journey.
