Parc trens Marratxinet
Description
Parc trens Marratxinet is a railway park and open-air museum in Marratxí, Mallorca, run by the Club Ferroviario Vaporista de Mallorca (CFVM).
Railway history you can actually ride
The heart of the park is a staffed garden-railway circuit where children and adults alike can climb aboard genuine miniature carriages and take a ride. Alongside the running track, there's a museum area and a dedicated section of track where historic rolling stock from the Mallorcan railway network is preserved and maintained. The CFVM project was developed on municipal land and built up gradually from 2009; the first phase received its operating licence in October 2019 and opened to visitors in December of the same year.
The circuit, museum and picnic spots
The train ride itself lasts a few minutes and takes you through a tunnel, among other highlights. When you're done riding, the site offers picnic areas where you can sit back and relax. The whole place has a wonderfully cared-for feel — the circuit is thoughtfully detailed and kept running entirely by volunteer members of the CFVM. A small donation per person is collected at the ticket desk.
How to find it
The park is located in Es Caülls, a neighbourhood of Marratxí (07141). It's roughly a five-minute walk from the nearby festival grounds. For up-to-date schedules, head to the CFVM website at cfvm.es.
