Description

The Passeig Verd Manacor–Artà is a 29-kilometre walking and cycling route in eastern Mallorca, running along a former railway line.

Following old tracks through the east

The route that once set out to connect Manacor and Artà is today a car-free path for walkers, joggers and cyclists. It runs largely along natural trails through the rural landscape of the Llevant region. The gentle gradient makes it comfortable to tackle in either direction. Beyond the two endpoints, the route also passes through the villages of Sant Llorenç, Son Carrió and Son Servera.

What to expect

The path follows the course of a historic railway line that was in operation between 1921 and 1977 — and that railway heritage feels tangible throughout the journey. The surface is predominantly natural trail; in places it becomes stony, which can make cycling a little more demanding. Water points and benches are largely absent along the route, so it's well worth bringing your own supplies and plenty of water for longer outings.

Location & access

The registered access point is at Diseminado Polígon 07, 130, in the municipal area of Manacor (07500). From there, the route stretches to Artà through the eastern interior of the island — away from road traffic and well clear of the main towns.
