Pixarells
Description
Es Pixarells is a camping zone and recreational area in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, situated in the municipality of Escorca on Mallorca.
Pure nature in the Tramuntana mountains
The site sits amid an unspoilt mountain landscape with stunning views across the Serra de Tramuntana. Rocky formations shape the terrain, and the natural character of the surroundings — forest, mountains, fresh air — takes centre stage. Around the camping zone you'll find walking trails of varying difficulty, from gentle footpaths to more demanding mountain routes. If bouldering is your thing, climbing routes are located roughly 200 metres down the path from the campsite.
Hiking & day trips
Es Pixarells is a well-established starting point for hikes in the surrounding area. From here, a path leads to the Lluc Monastery, beginning to the left and downhill from the car park at the far end of the site — sections of the route are quite challenging, so sturdy footwear is strongly advised. The long-distance trail GR221 is also accessible from here.
Camping, picnicking & day visits
The site offers tent pitches as well as the option to stay overnight in a campervan. Advance booking is recommended. Picnic tables and barbecue areas are available on site; however, fires may only be lit during the designated months and are strictly prohibited in summer. Dogs are not permitted. Those coming just for the day will find the picnic facilities and rest area a great base for a relaxing outing.
Facilities & amenities
The site has toilets and showers, as well as a water point for rinsing off. The facilities are cleaned regularly — daily at weekends.
Location & getting there
Es Pixarells is located on the Ma-10 road at kilometre 19, in the municipality of Escorca. The access track is bumpy on the final stretch, so a vehicle with higher ground clearance is an advantage. A car park is available on site, which also serves as a starting point for hikes.
