Description

The Plaça dels Patins – officially the Plaça Bisbe Berenguer de Palou – is a public square in the heart of Palma, best known for its roller skating rink.

A Skating Rink with History

The centrepiece of the square is the skating rink on the eastern side, built in 1954 and once the home of the España Hockey Club, which was founded in 1971. It is the rink that gave the square its popular nickname – "Patins" is the Catalan word for skates.

Play, Climb and Unwind

There is a small, fenced-off play area for children, making it a lovely spot for younger visitors. The square is also characterised by large ficus trees that are a firm favourite for climbing. The overall atmosphere is calm and relaxed.

Organic Market on the Square

Since September 2010, the square has hosted an organic market, held every Tuesday and Saturday.
