Platja de Formentor
Description
Platja de Formentor is a natural beach on the Formentor Peninsula, within the municipality of Pollença in the north-east of Mallorca, nestled among pine trees and dramatic cliffs.
Water, Sand and Shade
The water at Platja de Formentor is crystal clear, and the sand is fine and pale. Pine trees line the beach, their canopies forming natural shady retreats — a welcome alternative to hiring a sunlounger. If you arrive without a parasol, you'll find plenty of cool, shaded spots right on the sand. The seabed shelves very gently, making swimming a pleasure, and fish are easily visible to the naked eye.
On-Site Facilities
The beach has public showers and toilets available. Sunloungers and parasols are available to hire, and there are bars and restaurants on site as well.
Location and Getting There
The beach is located on Carrer Zona Formentor 34 in Pollença, reached via a winding mountain road with stunning views along the way. There is a paid car park directly at the beach, though parking is free during certain periods. Access by private vehicle may be subject to restrictions depending on the time of year.
