Platja de Muro
Description
Platja de Muro is a sweeping sandy beach on the Bay of Alcúdia in the north-east of Mallorca.
Water and Sand
Fine white sand and turquoise, crystal-clear water define the look and feel of Platja de Muro. The seabed shelves very gently — you can walk a long way out before the water gets any deeper. That gradual slope makes the beach particularly well suited to swimming and splashing about. Bring a snorkel mask and you may spot starfish, various species of fish, and the occasional ray gliding past.
Width, Length and Atmosphere
The beach is wide, offering plenty of room for a leisurely stroll or a quiet afternoon's relaxation. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hire along the shoreline, and beach bars and restaurants are close at hand. On busy days it can get lively, but outside the peak season Platja de Muro feels spacious and wonderfully peaceful.
Location and Getting There
The beach is situated on Carrer de la Ginesta within the municipality of Alcúdia. A car park sits directly behind the beach, though spaces fill up quickly during the height of summer. Showers and toilets are available right at the beach entrance.
Notes on Beach Conditions
As with many Mediterranean beaches, seagrass can wash ashore depending on the weather and may occasionally drift in the water. The cleanliness of the beach varies throughout the day and across different times of year.
