Platja de Palmanova
Description
Platja de Palmanova is a sandy beach in the resort of Palmanova, on the south-west coast of Mallorca.
The Beach
Platja de Palmanova stretches for a kilometre along the shoreline. The beach features fine sand and is well set up for sunbathing, with hammocks available for hire. The seabed drops away steeply in places. Just steps from the sand you'll find small bars and shops. There are no toilet facilities directly on the beach.
Water & Sand
The beach boasts fine, soft sand. The water conditions can vary depending on the time of year and the weather — some visitors have noted seagrass washing ashore, and the water can take on a greenish tint at certain times.
Location & Surroundings
The beach sits on Carrer Germans Moncada in Palmanova, a resort in the south-west of Mallorca that belongs to the municipality of Calvià, around 15 kilometres from Palma. Palmanova has a noticeably more family-friendly feel than its immediate neighbour Magaluf. Other beaches are close by, including Platja de Son Maties.
Who Is It For?
The beach is ideally suited to families and those looking to relax and unwind. The generous stretch of sand means there's plenty of room even during the peak summer months.
