Platja des Dolç
Description
Platja des Dolç is a natural beach near Colònia de Sant Jordi in the south of Mallorca.
Beach & Water
Fine white sand, clear water and a gently shelving shoreline define Platja des Dolç. The calm, shallow water makes swimming easy and relaxed. The rocky areas nearby are well suited to snorkelling.
A Natural Beach with Seagrass
Posidonia seagrass that washes ashore is not removed by machine here — it can pile up along the waterline in places and may limit access to the water at certain spots. This is simply part of the character of a natural beach, and has been standard practice across Mallorca for a number of years.
Facilities
There is a small beach bar serving food and drinks. Sun loungers and parasols are available to hire, and a lifeguard is on duty. Toilet facilities are present on site, though they could do with some improvement.
Location & Getting There
The beach is close to the harbour of Colònia de Sant Jordi and easily reached on foot in around 5 to 10 minutes. Access is via the beach path — alternative routes shown on Google Maps are closed to the public. If you're arriving by car, park in the village and take the short walk down to the beach.
