Platja des Peregons Grans
Description
Platja des Peregons Grans is a natural beach in the south of Mallorca, close to Colònia de Sant Jordi, with fine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water.
Beach & Water
Fine white sand, crystal-clear water and a striking turquoise hue define this unspoilt natural beach. The water is shallow and calm, with a gently shelving seabed. The surroundings remain completely natural — dunes, rocks and not a building in sight. Come evening, the sunsets are a draw in their own right.
Naturism & Atmosphere
The beach is well suited to naturists and is known amongst visitors for it — nudism is practised along parts of the shore. Compared with neighbouring stretches, this cove has a reputation for being quieter and less crowded.
Seagrass: a Natural Ebb and Flow
The Posidonia seagrass meadows offshore are part of the natural environment here — and have a significant bearing on how enjoyable the beach is at any given time. There are periods when washed-up seagrass makes swimming considerably difficult or near impossible, and others when the cove is entirely clear of it. If you're planning to swim, it's worth checking recent reports before you go.
Location & Getting There
The beach sits within the 07639 postcode area of the Illes Balears. It's walkable from Colònia de Sant Jordi — visitors describe the walk as taking around 15 minutes. As a natural, undeveloped stretch of coastline, on-site facilities are limited, so come prepared and bring everything you need with you.
