Platja Es Morer Vermell
Description
Platja Es Morer Vermell is a small sandy beach in Alcúdia, in the north of Mallorca, known for its calm, clear water and unspoilt natural surroundings.
Beach & Water
The narrow sandy beach sits within a sheltered cove, where the water stays comparatively calm. Sand dominates over pebbles along the shoreline, making it easy to get into the water at several points. The sea here is clear and clean. Snorkellers are well rewarded: fish, rays, sea urchins, snails, starfish and coral can all be spotted in the shallow coastal waters. As the seabed is rocky in places, it's worth packing a pair of water shoes. Posidonia seagrass may be present on the beach and in the water depending on the time of year.
Atmosphere
Even at the height of summer, this beach remains relatively quiet and uncrowded. Two neighbouring hotels — the Hotel More and the Hotel Panoramic Alcudia — have access to the beach, though their guests tend to stay on the hotels' own sun loungers. The views across the sea, mountains and surrounding nature are a big part of what makes this spot so appealing.
Facilities & Practicalities
The beach has no sun loungers or parasols for hire, no toilet or shower facilities, and no lifeguard service. Come prepared with everything you need. Parking nearby is straightforward, with roadside spaces readily available.
Location & Getting There
The beach is located on the Avinguda del Morer Vermell in Alcúdia (07400). It's reachable on foot from Alcúdia town centre and also accessible by bus.
