Description
Port de Sóller is a TIB bus stop in the harbour town of the same name on the north-west coast of Mallorca — and the gateway to one of the most picturesque corners of the island.
The Stop at a Glance
The TIB stop sits to the north of Port de Sóller, close to the harbour centre, the beaches and the seafront promenade. Buses towards Palma depart from here — if you've missed a seat on a packed bus in Sóller, you'll have a much better chance of boarding here instead.
Connections & Getting Here
The stop serves routes between Palma and Port de Sóller. One route runs through the tunnel, while another winds via Deià and Valldemossa — each offering a different perspective on the west coast. In addition, the tram connects Port de Sóller with the town of Sóller, from where the narrow-gauge railway (affectionately known as the "Red Lightning") continues to Palma via Bunyola. This combination of bus, tram and heritage railway is a much-loved way to reach the area.
The Surrounding Area
Port de Sóller itself is a fishing harbour enclosed by mountains, its bay resembling a sheltered lagoon rather than open sea. The waterfront offers a promenade perfect for a leisurely stroll, a harbour beach ideal for a swim or a quick paddle, and plenty of cafés right on your doorstep. Boat trips along the coast towards Sa Calobra depart from here, as do walking routes up into the Tramuntana mountains.
