Description

Puig de sa Font is a hiking summit reaching 1,071 m above sea level, set in the municipality of Escorca in the north-west of Mallorca.

Ascent & Trail Character

The climb to the summit is short but steep and rocky. The path disappears into the scrub (Càrritx) in places, so keep an eye on the cairns and make your way up via the northernmost part of the rockface to reach the top. Sturdy footwear is an absolute must — this is no place for sandals. Puig de sa Font also sits along the GR221, the long-distance trail that traverses the Serra de Tramuntana.

Views from the Summit

From the top, the views stretch towards Puig Major as well as towards Alaró. The panorama over the Cuber reservoir and the sweeping beauty of the Serra de Tramuntana is a real highlight. Those who begin their ascent from Font des Noguer arrive at the 1,071 m summit having earned every metre.

Getting There

The walking area lies within the municipality of Escorca (07315) in the north-west of Mallorca. The route can be joined from a nearby car park, with the summit reachable in around 20 minutes; another established starting point is Font des Noguer.
