Puig de s’Alqueria
Description
Puig de s'Alqueria is a hiking and climbing destination near Bunyola in Mallorca, best known for the sweeping views it rewards you with from the summit.
Views & Experience
Reach the top of Puig de s'Alqueria and you'll be treated to far-reaching views across a good stretch of the island — something every visitor agrees on. The route up follows a winding, occasionally monotonous track with a gentle gradient, steepening noticeably in the final 15 minutes or so before the summit. If climbing is your thing, the summit ridge offers challenging multi-pitch routes, and the climbing along the ribs at the top is considered truly exceptional. Families appreciate the trail too — the relatively short distance makes it a manageable outing, even if the ascent is uphill all the way.
Getting There
The trail to Puig de s'Alqueria starts from the road to Sóller, at the level of the Possessió de s'Alqueria. If you're driving, it's best to park beyond Sant'Alqueria — heading towards Valldemossa or as far as Sa Gubia — rather than using the Can Penasso car park. If you're coming by bus, alight at Alfabia. Do bear in mind that the path is closed on Saturdays and you won't be able to pass through; Sunday access is fine.
